Community Benefit Fund
COMMUNITY
GIVING
Powering Allegany County with community-enhancing opportunities.
Dan’s Mountain Wind Community Benefit Fund will allocate $10,000 annually to empower local not-for-profit organizations in Allegany County. The grant cycle opens yearly, inviting applications from groups dedicated to enhancing various aspects of community life including education, historic preservation, public safety, economic development, and public recreation.
In our commitment to ensuring that these funds make the most significant impact, we are establishing a locally-run allocation committee. This committee will be composed of local citizens and community leaders who will take the responsibility of making informed decisions on the allocation of these funds. We invite interested volunteers to step forward to join this committee. The primary mission of the Dan’s Mountain Wind Community Benefit Fund is to enhance the quality of life for Allegany County residents. We place special emphasis on projects that create or improve infrastructure and cultural opportunities, believing that such initiatives are vital to the ongoing growth and prosperity of the community.
During construction, the Clearway team has contributed over $5,800 to local nonprofits and community organizations as part of its community engagement program. Recipient organizations include:
- Western Maryland Health System Foundation - Dialysis Patient Assistance Fund
- REACT: Robotics and Engineering for Allegany County, Together
- Western Maryland Works Facility (through Allegany College)
