Construction is underway for the Dan’s Mountain Wind project, which will generate clean, reliable energy for Allegany County. Learn more about the progress & what to expect during construction.
The early stages of construction include site inspection and clearing, followed by pre-construction activities to deliver state-of-the-art wind technology to the site.
The Dan’s Mountain Wind project will bring economic and local benefits to Allegany County residents. Millions of dollars will be generated in tax revenue, energy costs will be reduced, and the site will generate enough clean local electricity to power 24,400 homes.
The 21st-century wind farm is located on 2,800 acres of privately owned land atop Dan’s Mountain. Good land stewardship and maintaining a minimal footprint are top priorities as we commence the project. Compared to conventional sources of energy, wind turbines by design require a very small footprint of land to operate, maintaining the integrity of the land for future generations.
We are deeply committed to being a partner in the community and welcome any questions that you may have about the project and its impact.
